Frequently Asked Questions

How much notice do I need to give to place an order?
The minimum amount of notice I need is 4 weeks.

If you have not given 4 weeks notice then it is less likely that I will be able to fill your order but please feel free to ask and I will try to help when possible.

I recommend giving as much notice as possible as I often get booked up weeks in advance. For wedding bookings, up to 1 year is advisable.
During Wedding Season (April-Oct) and at weekends I get booked up very quickly so bookings are heavily dependent on availability.

My diary opens for the following year after wedding seasons comes to a close, for example bookings for 2026 weddings will open in October 2024, and 2027 bookings will open in October 2025. Celebration cake orders can be booked in upto one year in advance.

Is there a minimum order?
Yes, for wedding bookings my minimum charge is currently £500. For bespoke celebration cakes the minimum is £80 and cupcakes carry a minimum of 12 cakes per booking.

I have my own cake flavor in mind; do you do custom cake flavors? All my cakes are made to order, so if you have a flavor in mind, let me know and I will do everything I can to make it for you! You can find a list of all my cake flavors Here.

Do you bake cakes for free from and restricted diets?
Yes! Dairy Free, Gluten Free and Wheat Free. I am fully competent in dealing with all major free from diets and allergies. (Unfortunately, at this moment in time I do not offer vegan or egg free cakes.)

AND….these are not just run of the mill, simple cakes – I can bake sparkly, fun, ‘normal’ tasting and great looking cakes for everyday or that special occasion!

All of my cakes are baked in the same kitchen and although I strive do all I can to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, I cannot 100% guarantee this. My cakes may not be suitable for those with very severe allergies, though I have baked for an endless number of ‘celiacs’ without yet to encounter any problems.

Are your cakes suitable for nut allergy sufferers?
I use nuts in my kitchen so although I can exclude them from a recipe, I cannot guarantee anything to be 100% nut free.

Are your cakes suitable for vegetarians?
Most of my cakes are suitable for vegetarians. Please do let me know if you’re a veggie and I will make double sure to leave any gelatin-based decorations off your cake.

How long will your cakes keep?
After many years in business, I have developed a recipe that stays fresh for longer than most, so even though I add a ‘best before’ of 1 week to your order, cupcakes and layer cakes may stay good to eat for much longer. Fruitcakes have a shelf life for up to 6 months.

Can you gift-wrap?
Cakes are presented in white cake boxes. I can add a coloured ribbon and a gift card for an additional £2.50 per box. I can also provide individual cupcake boxes, please ask for details.

Do you have a mailing list?
I do, and if you would like to join please just email your name and email address. If you place an order I will add you automatically. My mailing list is extremely low volume and we will never spam or pass on your details.

For the latest news and offers keep an eye on my social media pages, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

We have an event at our School/Club. Will you come and do a cake stall?
Unfortunately not, all my bakes are bespoke so I can not cater for school fairs and trade markets.

Do you sell gift vouchers?
I sure do! Please get in touch with your requirements.

Do you do mail order?
Unfortunately, I do not post my cakes.

Do you sell Wholesale?
I can offer Wholesale to local shops. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Do you have a shop where I can come and buy cakes?
No, sorry! Even though I do have a fully registered separate studio space, it is still a home-based business, so is open only by appointment only. I do not keep ready made products ‘on stock’ as I want to ensure every cake is fresh and tasty. I do offer wedding cake design consultations in my studio though. Click here for more information regarding my wedding service.

Do you offer delivery or can I collect from you?
I can offer delivery depending on the location and date of your event. Deliveries will be charged per mile from my Whitwood studio.

Collection is free of charge.
